2:30 – a maiden where PENNOCK could provide the value. Half-brother won on debut last year. Trainer Mark Johnston knows how to get them ready first time up. Form of Ikerrin Road doesn’t look particularly strong. Force would be the danger if running to the Royal Ascot level. Ten run so Pennock looks each-way value. 10/1 E/W
4:40 – This looks weaker to what PENHILL has ran in recently. If he doesn’t get too fractious prior to the start he has a fantastic chance here. Master Of Finance is likely to set the fractions, which should suit PENHILL to come off the pace. 7/2
3:45 – This Group 3 is easily race of the day and LA RIOJA is the one I like. I’ve followed her form in my other pieces and it is standing up very well. She shouldn’t mind cut in the ground based on pedigree with her sire being Hellvelyn. Mayfair Lady won really well in a Nursery at York’s Ebor Meeting and that probably sets the standard but she may not get an easy time in front like she did at York. Whatdoiwantthatfor has form with cut in the ground and she is the one to take to follow LA RIOJA home after a good third behind the improving Besharah in a Group 3 contest at Ascot. 9/2
3:50 – A Group 2 race where Andrew Balding has sent Merry Me across. Mark Johnston won the feature yesterday but this looks tricky for Balding’s filly. Andre Fabre’s four-year-old Vadamos heads the market however there could be more upside to FULL ROSE. A Listed race winner on debut and followed that up with a Group 2. The three-year-old does need to bounce back from a poor run at Hannover when last seen but could be the one to take the favourite on with. 9/2.
