Jason Cummings

This one is a pure value bet. Looking at this man's record, you'd be forgiven for thinking that if Hibs are 2/5 for the win at home to an average Raith side, you might be looking at odds on for their top goalscorer to net in the 90 minutes. If you took any other bookie's odds other than b365, you'd be spot on. As it is, 365 are begging you to punt on Cummings to score which, in the continued absence of strike partner Malonga who's been away at the African Cup of Nations, I am happy to do and suggest. At 4/6 elsewhere, the 11/10 available on Cummings represents outstanding value.

Charlie Austin

QPR's travails on the road in the Prem have been the fodder of every footy pundit (not) worth his salt this season. It's always easy to slag off a team with a record as poor as QPR's away from Loftus Road where they are simply a different side. I will take a different tack though in my constant search for value, having taken the view that Bojan's unfortunate injury will have taken a massive toll on Stoke's effectiveness and assessing QPR's most likely chance for a goal. For me, if anyone scores it's going to be Austin. This is essentially a punt on QPR to score in my mind and given that he also takes penalties, the 11/4 is frankly insane value.

Brentford v Boro - BTTS

I've read a fair bit on this game as well as having my own intrinsic opinion on how it will go down. This is one where the meeting in the middle doesn't count as a cop out but instead as a solid estimate on something we can reasonably expect to happen which the bookies are offering very reasonable odds on. At nearly 4/5 for both to score I reckon this is cracking value. Boro will have the 4-0 demolition of the Brentford in the back of their minds and will also be buoyed by the incredible FA Cup success at the Etihad. Having said that, The Bees will be looking to avenge said battering and trust me, their performance away at Norwich was tremendous in winning away. They are a different side to the early season game where they got done in and I fully expect this game to be tooth and nail right til the end. No final score would shock me so take it or leave it but I don't think the odds on the BTTS reflect the likelihood which I would place at around 1.57.

Ipswich O1.5 TG

Wigan are dross. Sorry any Latics fans but your record is utter bobbins and there's no point beating around the pie shop... sorry ,Wigan on the brain bush. Ipswich by contrast are a team on the up under Mick McCarthy. Scoring twice or more in the majority of home games this season, I honestly believe this price is a steal. Until Wigan provide me with some evidence that they're worth avoiding I will plan to back against them.

Double - Hibs/Arsenal O1.5 TG

Hibs are peaking at just the right time in the Scottish second tier. Their recent form has looked as though the team that began the season were getting over some kind of existential crisis/transgender operation rather than playing footy. With Alan Stubbs' men hitting the back of the net with increasing regularity, including 2 at a Queen of the South side they had lost their previous 2 against without scoring, I am supremely confident they will net twice against Raith.

Arsenal will batter Villa. I can't even see the point in getting into the whys and wherefores but look at it; they will smash them. Villa may have put paid to a Bournemouth side missing half their first choice players but that's the first time they've scored 2 second half goals in 50 games. Villa are one of the worst sides in the premier league and Arsenal have recently welcomed back Walcott and Ozil. I can't see past this one but as always take it or leave it!

Can't wait for some of the fixtures this weekend, Chelsea should beat Man City despite the squad problems (Costa/Fabregas); I'd say 1-0 with a late winner. Celtic/Rangers will be hilarious and entertaining whatever the result so if you're having a punt for interest, back a correct score Celtic 3-1 or back something on the cards market.

Good luck and enjoy the weekend!
