The corners were going well in our main bet with Vitoria Guimarães were done by half-time wit Braga halfway there. But, Braga failed to record any second-half to scupper us.
I did mention Liverpool on the shortlist and really should have gone for that.
To the darts…
Grand Slam of Darts
The first five matches on stage look worthy of throwing together in an acca:
Gabriel Clemens has won both group games and should prove too strong for the BDO’s Richard Veenstra.
Michael Smith nearly took the tournaments highest average yesterday afternoon, but just came up short with 113. A replica will be enough to beat Martin Schindler.
Dave Chisnall has been in very good form of late. His confidence looks to be back and he’s hitting his big scores. Lisa Ashton hasn’t played as well as she can, and Chisnall should record another win.
It’s a straight shootout between Daryl Gurney and Brendan Dolan – whoever wins goes through. Gurney averaged 100.8 in his 5-4 defeat to Clemens yesterday. Again, if he repeats that he should sweep aside a resurgent compatriot.
Peter Wright is already through, but he could scupper Danny Noppert’s chances of progress. The Dutchman needs to win to go through. If he loses then it could come down to legs difference. Wright has been playing quite well, his action looks smooth and he’s taking out the checkouts too. ‘Snakebite’ has won his last two against Noppert and can make it three here.
Putting those five together pays 2.57/1 with Betfair, which I could be happy to play.
Head to Sky Bet and play Gurney, Wright Smith and Chisnall all to win (13/8 – 0.5pt)
