So with the new Bundesliga season kicking off on Friday night I'm more excited than your average 20 year old should ever be without seeing a huge pile of cash... Although hopefully with these bets I'll be sitting on one at the end of the season! Here are 5 Bundesliga tips to keep an eye on over the season if you can find someone offering the market (try 10Bet or Betfair Exchange!)
After an impressive end to last season I fancy a cheeky bet on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund to be top scorer in 2015/16. Batman (with his sidekick, Marco Reus Robin) was tucking them in throughout the year in a failing Schwarz-Gelb side that were in the relegation zone at Christmas. With a fully functioning side and new manager he could really go to the next level next season. Also consider: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)
The newest addition to the Bayern Munich squad looks the real deal. Quick, skillful, great final ball, all were on display during an impressive pre-season that has already blown away many of the doubters after his move from Shakhtar Donetsk. His final delivery is lethal and the opening 5 minutes of the Pokal final saw him take Vierinha to the cleaners time and again. If Bayern utilise him then he could create plenty of goals this season. Also consider: Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
Hannover 96 look increasingly more perilously poised at the bottom of the table. After a rocky end to last season and a transfer window which saw them lose their captain (Lars Stindl), star young player (Leonardo Bittencourt) and main striker (Joselu) they could be in for a very difficult and painful season. They might not go down automatically; Darmstadt look weak and Hamburg could really struggle, but after failing to win for months after Christmas they look in serious trouble, both form-wise and personnel-wise. Also consider: Hertha Berlin
This is a tough one to predict, but given the right handicap both Augsburg and Cologne could be interesting picks here. The Bavarians (Augsburg) had an unbelievable season last year, narrowly missing out on the Champions League and qualifying automatically for the Europa League group stage. They will aim to push on more this season, whilst Cologne have had one of the best summers in the transfer window in my opinion. Given a high handicap they could seriously be ones to watch, as well as potential qualifiers for Europe.
Most Clean Sheets
Obviously Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) will be a great choice for this market but also bear in mind Yann Sommer of Borussia Monchengladbach. The Swiss international was solid in his first season in Germany and played behind one of the most impressive defences in the league. Another solid season could propel the Foals closer to the top spot and challenge Bayern for both first place and the best defensive record. Keep an eye on them.
